| At it's most simple, champagne that does not have a year printed on the main label. Non vintage is known as 'N/V' and this is due to the practice of using wine from different years to create a wine. Champagne is made by putting extra yeast and sugar into a bottle of wine, most often a blend of up to three different wines (see the post on Champagne - A definition). The original blend can be made up of wines from more than one year. They do this for consistency. Veuve Clicquot is supposed to taste different from Bollinger, but it is still supposed to taste like Veuve Clicquot, year in, year out. The way the Champenoise maintain the flavour is by using older wines to supplement the current crop.

That's why I like champagnes more than wines but wines have their own respect.

| Hello All, I'm after this type of Champagne, Jaquart Extra Brut. I had some in Berlin in December it was very good and I brought a few back for Christmas, but now I can't seem to find it anywhere? I've found normal Jaquart with the gold wrap around the neck of the bottle but the Extra Brut has silver round it's neck. Can anyone please help? Kind Regards, Lee.
